A flower stud is a cluster of round stones set around a centre, and the reason it works better than a single stone at the same total weight is edges. More stones mean more facet junctions catching light from more angles, so the earring stays bright even when your head turns away from a lamp. It also keeps the earring flat against the lobe, which is more comfortable to sleep in and easier to wear under headphones than a tall solitaire.
Every stone in the cluster is moissanite, round brilliant cut, on pure 925 silver plated in 18k gold. Earrings take more abuse than people expect, mostly from hair, pillows and the backs of phone cases, and small stones are the first thing to dull. At Mohs 9.25 moissanite resists that, and its refractive index of about 2.65 against diamond's 2.42 is why a 2mm moissanite accent still reads as a spark rather than a grey dot.
Three finishes are offered and the decision is mostly about what else is in your ears and on your hands. Silver is the safe default and the easiest to mix with other jewellery. Gold reads warmer and is the stronger choice if you already wear gold rings or a gold watch. Rose gold is the softest of the three against the skin of the lobe and tends to suit people who find yellow gold too strong. All three share the same setting.
