About Frost & Facets
Moissanite, explained honestly
Frost & Facets exists for one reason. A stone that reads like a diamond across a room should not cost what a diamond costs, and nobody should have to pretend otherwise to enjoy wearing it.
Moissanite is silicon carbide. It has a refractive index of about 2.65 against a diamond's 2.42, which means it bends light harder and throws more coloured fire. It sits at 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale against a diamond's 10, so it holds a polished edge through daily wear in a way that cubic zirconia simply does not. It is a different stone with its own behaviour, and we would rather tell you what it does than call it something it is not.
What we stock
Chains, pendants, rings, bracelets and earrings, built for two kinds of buyer who usually get sold to separately. Heavy iced Cuban links and tennis chains on one side. Solitaires, halos, hoops and fine tennis bracelets on the other. Same stones, same metals, same standards.
Every base metal we list is either 925 sterling silver or stainless steel. Both resist tarnish and neither turns skin green the way plated brass does. Where a piece is gold plated we say plated. We never describe plating as solid gold.
Certification
A large part of the range ships with a GRA certificate documenting the stone's cut, colour and clarity. Where a listing offers both a moissanite and a cubic zirconia option, the certificate covers the moissanite option only, and the product page says so rather than leaving you to work it out.
