Moissanite Tassel Drop Earrings, 0.5ct or 1ct Each

A tassel drop works because the lower section swings independently of the stud. The stone sits on the lobe and the fringe hangs below it, so every small movement of the head sends light down the length of the earring instead of holding it in one place. The drop is light enough that it does not drag on the piercing, and the fringe is set close so it does not tangle in hair or catch on a collar.

You can take this with moissanite stones or all zircon. Moissanite is the harder of the two at 9.25 on the Mohs scale, so it keeps its polish, and with a refractive index of about 2.65 against a diamond's 2.42 it throws more coloured fire, which is what you want on a piece designed to move. Zircon is softer, less fiery, and loses brightness over time, but it costs considerably less and makes sense as a gift or an occasional pair.

Two stone weights are offered, quoted per ear. The 0.5ct pair uses the 5mm stone and keeps the whole earring in proportion, so the fringe stays the feature. The 1ct pair uses the 6.5mm stone and gives the top of the earring real weight, which balances better if you have longer hair or wear the pair on their own. Three plated finishes are listed, silver, gold and rose gold, all on 925 sterling silver plated 18k.
