Pear is a directional cut, with a rounded end and one point, and it has to be worn the right way up to work. Set with the point toward the fingertip, it lengthens the finger in the way an oval does, while the teardrop outline gives it a softer, less formal look than a round. The shape also spreads across a long footprint, so a pear always looks bigger than its carat weight suggests, which is useful if you want size without paying for extra carats.
The stone is moissanite, which measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale and has a refractive index of about 2.65, higher than diamond's 2.42. That matters on a pear in particular. The point is the thinnest and most exposed part of the stone, and it is where softer gems wear first. A hard stone keeps that point sharp for years. The band is pure 925 sterling silver, which will not tarnish the way plated brass does, so the ring stays clean with ordinary care.
Four weights are offered. The 1ct is the modest everyday pear and sits comfortably under a glove. The 2ct is the one most people choose for an engagement, with clear presence without overhanging the finger. The 3ct and 4ct are deliberate statement stones and look best on a longer finger. Ring sizes run 5 through 9 in whole sizes. If you are between sizes, go up, because a long stone makes the finger feel slightly tighter than a round one does.
