A tennis necklace is one unbroken line of stones, so how it hangs matters as much as the stones themselves. This one is built from linked sections that flex against each other, which lets the line follow the curve of your neck instead of standing away from it. A rigid chain bridges the hollow of the collarbone and shows gaps. A flexible one lies flat and keeps every stone facing forward, which is where the light is.
You choose between all moissanite and all zircon, and the certificate comes with the moissanite only. Moissanite measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale and has a refractive index of about 2.65, so it keeps its polish against collars and seatbelts and throws more fire than diamond. Zircon is softer and less lively, and it will lose some crispness over years of daily wear, but it costs far less and suits a piece worn now and then or given as a gift.
Length changes the character of the piece. The 38cm and 40.5cm sit high on the neck as a close fit. The 45.5cm is the standard length and lands at the collarbone, which is the one to pick if you are unsure. The 51cm and 56cm drop lower and layer over a pendant, and the 61cm hangs onto the chest. Finishes are white, yellow and rose gold plating over 925 sterling silver.
