A heart cut is genuinely difficult to execute well. The two lobes have to match, the cleft between them has to be clean and symmetrical, and the point at the base has to be sharp without being fragile. Done badly it reads as a lumpy round. Done properly, as here, the shape is unmistakable at a glance even at half a carat. The cleft at the top is the first thing to check on any heart cut, because a clean, symmetrical notch is what makes the shape read.
That shape also gives the stone more facet edges than a round of the same weight, which is why heart cuts throw a scattered, lively sparkle rather than a single central flash. On an earring, where the stone sits in constant motion beside the face, that works in your favour. Moissanite has a refractive index of about 2.65 and a Mohs hardness of 9.25, so the heart shape keeps a sharp outline and a polished surface over years.
The listing carries two stone options and they are priced accordingly. The moissanite version is GRA certified, harder, and noticeably brighter in ordinary light. The zircon version gives the same outline and setting at a lower cost. Weights run from half a carat each up to four carats each, with the larger sizes clearly intended as statement pairs. Everything sits on solid 925 silver plated in 18k gold, in white, yellow or rose.
