Moissanite Bear Pendant Necklace with Tennis Chain

The bear is a solid pendant pave set across the whole face, so there is no plain metal showing from the front. Pave on a curved shape like this is harder to do well than on a flat bar, because each stone has to be set at a slightly different angle to keep the surface reading as one sheet of light. Done properly, it means the pendant catches light from any direction rather than only head on.

The stones are moissanite, which is the practical choice on a piece this densely set. A pave surface has hundreds of small facet edges rubbing against clothing, and softer stones go cloudy along those edges first. At Mohs 9.25 moissanite keeps its polish, and its refractive index of roughly 2.65 against 2.42 for diamond is what keeps small stones looking bright white rather than milky and grey in ordinary indoor light.
