An oval centre is the quiet upgrade on a round solitaire. The elongated outline spreads the same carat weight across more visible surface, so the stone looks larger on the hand, and the long axis of the cut makes the finger read slimmer. It is the shape people land on after trying everything else. The outline also keeps the stone from looking too wide across the knuckle, which makes it a safer choice for anyone who works with their hands.

The stone is full moissanite and ships with its certificate, so there is a document to point at rather than a claim on a product page. Moissanite also has a refractive index higher than diamond, which is why the fire reads so strongly in daylight and under artificial light alike, and a hardness just below diamond, which is what makes it suitable for a ring worn every day rather than kept for occasions. Cubic zirconia scores around 8 on the same Mohs scale, so it picks up fine scratches much sooner. On a ring, that gap is the whole argument for moissanite.

Choose the centre at 1.5, 2 or 3 carats. The 1.5 wears comfortably under gloves and sleeves. The 2 is the most requested size and the one that photographs best. Materials and care

Most pieces are hallmarked S925 sterling silver, often plated in 18k gold and sealed with an AF protective film. The exact metal, stone and finish of this piece are listed in the description above.

Sterling silver is not waterproof. Take it off before swimming, showering or sleeping, and wipe it dry after wear.

Clean it every one to two months with a soft cloth to keep the shine.

What D colour, VVS1 and GRA mean

D colour is the top of the colourless grade scale, so the stone reads white rather than yellow or grey. VVS1 is the second highest clarity grade, which means no inclusions are visible to the naked eye. Pieces marked GRA Certified ship with an official GRA grading report stating both. Zircon options, and pieces without that mark, do not include a certificate.

Most pieces are hallmarked S925 sterling silver, often plated in 18k gold and sealed with an AF protective film, and a few heavier chains use 316L steel. Each description lists the exact metal and stone. Moissanite sits at 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, above cubic zirconia, so it holds its polish through daily wear.

Moissanite is a lab created gemstone. It is harder than cubic zirconia, sits at 9.25 on the Mohs scale, and returns more light than a diamond of the same size. Our moissanite is graded D colour and VVS1 clarity.

Does it come with a certificate?

Pieces marked GRA Certified on the product page ship with an official GRA grading report that states the colour, clarity, cut and carat weight. Other pieces, and all zircon options, do not include a certificate.

Can I wear it in water?

No. Sterling silver is not waterproof. Take your piece off before swimming, showering or sleeping. Wipe it dry after wear and it will keep its finish for years.

How do I choose my size?
