An oval solitaire is the most wearable way to hang a large stone. The shape is longer than it is wide, so the stone lies along the line of the chest instead of sitting as a round dot, and it reads bigger than a round stone of the same weight because more of its surface faces outward. The bail is set at the narrow end, which keeps the long axis vertical and stops the pendant from tipping sideways as you move.
The stone is moissanite, cut and graded as a gem rather than sold loose by the bag. It is harder than almost anything it will meet in daily wear at Mohs 9.25, and its refractive index of roughly 2.65 is higher than diamond, which is why the flashes off a large oval look coloured rather than plain white. On a pendant that sits in good light most of the day, that extra fire is the part people notice.
Three carat weights are offered. The 3ct is the everyday choice and still clears the collarbone cleanly on a fine chain. The 4ct is the middle ground, noticeably wider on the chest without becoming the only thing you can wear. The 5ct is a statement and suits an open neckline. Pendant and chain finishes are chosen separately in silver, gold and rose gold, so you can match the pendant to existing rings and keep the chain discreet.
