It is the setting jewellers reach for when a piece has to survive real life. Nothing sticks out to snag on a jumper, nothing can bend back and drop the stone, and the metal edge throws a clean outline that makes the moissanite read sharper against skin. That continuous edge also protects the girdle, the thin outer rim of the stone, which is where chips usually start.

Pairing that with a pear cut solves the one weakness pear stones have. The point of a pear is its most fragile corner, and in a claw setting it is left exposed. Bezelled, the tip is fully enclosed, so this is the version of the shape you can wear every day rather than save for occasions.

Sizes run from 1ct at 5x8mm up to 4ct at 9x13mm. The smaller two sit comfortably under a shirt collar and layer well with a shorter chain. The 3ct and 4ct are standalone pieces with real weight to them. Choose a 45cm chain to sit at the collarbone or 50cm to drop a little lower, in white, yellow or rose gold over s925 sterling silver. Moissanite has a refractive index of about 2.65 and a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale, so the stone holds its polish inside the rim.

Stone: pear cut moissanite, fully bezel set

Sizes: 1ct 5x8mm, 2ct 7x10mm, 3ct 7x11mm, 4ct 9x13mm

Metal: s925 sterling silver

Finish: white gold, yellow gold or rose gold

Chain lengths: 45cm or 50cm

Setting: snag free bezel, protected point

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0965/6526/4650/files/S7efe36433f33416da14adc76f93600636.webp?v=1790893444
https://frostandfacets.com/products/knobspin-1-4ct-pear-cut-moissanite-necklaces-for-women-s925-sterling-silver-chain-bezel-set-solitaire-gemstone-pendant-necklace
